Today I attended a presentation by Microsoft on Vista.
At that presentation they handed out disks of the Vista Beta dated February CTP with a warning not to install on a system holding any critical data.
That is fair enough, and I have a spare disk whcih I can install on.
My query is as to whether there is likely to be any time limit on use of this beta, because if so, I may hold off on installation until I have upgraded my graphics card.
My existing system is an AMD Athlon XP 3000 with 1 gig RAM but the card is only an NVIDIA GE Force 5200 with 128 meg.
Is this likely to run Vista reasonably?
Appreciate you advice.

Feb CTP
It will most likely be a 1 year of use with the activation. As for your system, it looks just fine. Not sure about glass, but you should still be able to run vista. Zack or Andre will be able to tell you better then me if it will run Glass.
-- Jason
Applied but still waiting to be accepted for the Vista Beta Testing group. Can't wait to be able to play and help make it even better.

The FebruarY CTP Expires July 2007. Your video card will be able to run Glass, I would suggest going to nVidia's website and check their download section to see if there are any drivers available for your card specifically though because the built in drivers that come with Vista are a bit unstable. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

P.S. I just also thought that I would let you know that there is probably no one in this whole entire world who has exactly the same computer configuration as me (considering the fact that it is a Very Weird Configuration). For a Start: I have 2 Ethernet Cards (One PCI and One Integrated), I also have two Sound Cards (again One PCI and One Integrated), I also have an Add On Video Card that did not Originally come with my computer, just FYI.

Yeah, the machine I'm using for Vista is virtually identical to that. But I'm using two video cards and have the onboard video disabled.
